Dear Independent Restaurant Owner

I prefer to eat at independent restaurants.  It is not that I dislike corporate restaurants, but I prefer to reward the entrepreneurial spirit that leads someone to establish their own restaurant.  It is an incredibly competitive field and I have the utmost respect for people who succeed in it.  The restaurant business is a tough one.  It is still at the end of the day though a business.

This post was written months ago and specifically addresses two restaurants that I am disappointed that I cannot continue to patronize.  While I prefer to support independent restaurants, I cannot support those with business practices that are antithetical to providing customer service.  The unfortunate part is that I really liked both restaurants.  One of them I have patronized most of my life.  I feel that when restaurant owners show a disregard for their guests, it is not in anyone’s interest to encourage them with their dining dollars.  What did these restaurants do to lose my business?  You will have to read the post to find out.
